One of our clinic’s core values is a commitment to learning and furthering our education so that we can deliver the best standard of care to every patient. We are proud that our vets, nurses and reception team all aspire to improve their knowledge and skills. Everyone is involved in learning throughout the year, but we thought we would share a few highlights from the last few months.
- Georgia, one of our Senior Nurses, attended a workshop at the Veterinary Training Centre, on advanced anaesthesia to ensure we are providing the safest possible anaesthetics for your pets.
- Grace, our Lead Nurse, also visited the Veterinary Training Centre, this time for a practical session entitled “Dentistry for Nurses”. She brought back the newest information so we can ensure our protocols are maintained to the highest standards. Our Dentistry team consists of both vets and nurses, who both play important roles in looking after the oral care of your pets. Dental care is so much more than just cleaning teeth!
- Cass, receptionist, attended a training session in Port Melbourne to learn all of the nooks and crannies of Best For Pet, our membership programme, to help clients get the most value from their programme.
- We organised a morning for our Vet Team to learn from each other. Dr Christy demonstrated a number of tips and tricks for abdominal ultrasound to the rest of the vets, assisting each one with practical application. Thank you Heidi for willingly volunteering to be scanned! Dr Vienne and Dr Caitlin reviewed our CHILL protocols for anxious patients visiting the clinic. Our plan for the next meeting is to have Dr Keith and Dr Aoife share some of their new knowledge obtained from CPD attendance.
Many of our clients know that each of our vets have special interests, areas of expertise and subjects in which they have pursued further education.

Dr Victoria – feline medicine, chronic disease management, feline and canine dentistry
