Cats - Reproduction and breeding

  • Cat breeding at this time of the year

    As the weather starts to become a bit warmer and the days begin to lengthen, entire female cats start to come on call - this is also known as coming on heat or into season. Their behaviour can appear
  • Hand rearing kittens

    Young kittens may need to be hand-raised for many reasons including: The kittens are orphaned or abandoned The mother develops a medical condition (eg. mastitis, eclampsia) or requires medication
  • Pregnancy and your cat

    How long does pregnancy last? Pregnancy (or the gestation period) lasts for 58 to 63 days in queens. Individual cats may vary but you should inform your veterinarian if your queen's pregnancy exceeds
