Last month Nurse Kara attended the VNCA (Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia) conference. The conference was held at the Pullman Hotel in Albert Park. The conference ran over three days, and Kara attended many seminars and lectures where she learnt a great deal on topics such as the emergency anaesthetic, first aid and treating diabetic patients, and critical care nutrition. Kara particularly enjoyed learning about gentle, safe and confident handling and ways in which to minimise stress levels within patients who visit the clinic. In order to share what she has learnt with other nurses, she will be making a presentation at our upcoming biannual nurse meeting.
