THe Lost Dogs' Home

Our clinic has partnered with The Lost Dogs' Home, Australia's largest animal shelter, to help find homes for the abandoned cats and dogs. The shelter was established in 1910 to provide a temporary home for Melbourne's lost and starving dogs. Today, it cares for over 31,000 dogs and cats every year and provides a variety of animal welfare and community services. Pet owners can search their website for dogs and cats available for adoption.

Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR)

Founded by Nurse Marisa who was a valuable team member at our Essendon Vet Clinic, SCAR is a not-for-profit animal rescue organisation that saves stray and unwanted animals from death-row pounds and finds them loving homes. All animals at SCAR are vet checked, desexed, vaccinated and microchipped before being rehomed. SCAR is run via foster care homes and has approximately 60 foster carers Melbourne-wide that house cats and dogs while they wait for their new homes.
