A few months ago, our colleagues at sister clinic Manningham referred a blue tongue lizard to Dr Collette at Fitzroy as she has a special interest in reptiles. Even though it was a Saturday and her day off, Dr Collette was very excited to do some reptile/wildlife work so dropped everything to come in!
It was wonderful of Manningham to think to call us at Fitzroy to help Rambo (the lizard) but also for the nurses who went out of their way to bring him over to us on a busy Saturday. After undergoing surgery to fix his broken jaw, Rambo spent a few weeks recovering in one of our spare tanks and was then released back into the wild.
We hope that Rambo is now back to living happily in the wild!!
If you come across injured wildlife, please call us to be advised of the best thing to do.
